HS Code Desk is a desk, not a platform. Type a product description or a code, and get the commodity code or HTS code, the duty rate, VAT or sales tax treatment, and any preferential rate or import control that applies — for both the UK and the US, in one place.

The 6-digit HS root is shared between UK commodity codes and US HTS codes. Every code page here links straight to its counterpart in the other jurisdiction, so a seller shipping the same product to both markets doesn't have to look it up twice.

It's built for two kinds of readers: importers and sellers classifying goods and checking a duty rate before they ship, and consumers who've just been charged by a courier and want to know why. Both get the same thing — the real rate, sourced from government data, not a guess.

Nothing here is customs advice. Every rate is an estimate based on published data; the final assessment on any shipment is made by customs authorities.
